The torch has been passed...

Ian loved Elmo as a baby and stuck with him well thru his toddler years. But as all kids grow, they grow out of things as well. It happens.

We've noticed that Eli has taking a liking to a little stuffed Elmo doll that my parents gave him for Christmas. He's pretty gentle with it most of the time. It's cute how he reaches out for it when you hold it up in front of him.

So tonight we thought, lets try out a DVD on him. He's not been feeling well lately, and today he was downright ornery. I asked Ian if he'd like to watch an Elmo with his little brother, thinking he would think he was too old or too cool for that. Surprisingly enough, he agreed, and even picked out the one he wanted to watch with him. He sat thru it quietly for the most part. And just like that, Elmo is back in our lives. Margaret and I both loves Elmo as well, so it's a welcome addition in our house, and takes us back to when Ian was little.

I love moments like these. This is wonderful, and you can clearly see they are both very interested in what Elmo has to say.
