The weapon of choice.

A wild stallion uses his teeth as a formidable weapon in fighting and defense of his band of females and colts.

The black stallion being chased away in this frame already had a gaping hole and man's fist sized chunk of flesh hanging from his left hind quarter, dangling by a strip of skin. It was a large and open wound that will likely cause a deformity in the young horse. I have a photo of it but consider it a bit too gruesome to post.

Having trained at least twenty of the wild herd from Utah,up here in Canada,I found your photos fascinating to see the terrain from which they came.

That's what I call action :-) Wild horses are very pretty to watch. Could stand there for hours. Did you enjoy it ? Seems the black one got quite some wounds from the white stallion, according to your comment. Big V

wonderful action and behavioural image! Nah. I don't wanna see the wounds..my imagination, stirred by the stallion's teeth, is good enough:) I love THIS! BV

I'd be interested to see the photo of the wound. Let me be the first to encourage you to post it.
