Nice composition. It would have been tempting to crop the tree out but I think it adds to the picture. Its good all these old buildings are being documented through your photography, so many are being lost to developers keen to turn them into "modern rural dwellings" uugghh

Taken from a very nice perspective Chris. It has an almost painting like finish. I like the warm tones of the church and the winding path. Also how one can see through one window and out of another...BV My friend! A delightful HDR!

What a beautiful photo, Chris - the path leads us right up to the abbey, there's a host of detail in the building (looks like it's been loped off at the end though!); the narrow, letterbox composition works a treat, and you've got a tremendous sky overlooking the whole scene...top photo! V+
