Sterno is the first stove or cooking set most of us used as kids. It was cheap and as safe as it gets as far as kids and flames go. Well the old folding metal frame is actually quite stable and windworthly if you use an alcohol burner in place of the " Canned Heat ". A good source of alcohol is " Heet Gas Tank Dryer " in the Yellow Bottle with blue label. Be sure not to buy " Iso- Heet " as it burns poorly, sootly and even costs more!!
