We received notification the night before that we were going to be delayed. We did not need to report to the Vista Lounge for our Shore Excursion until 9:30am. However, at 9:30am, we were still in the second chamber of the lock. When I called the Front Desk to confirm that the excursion would be delayed, they told us that there had been no notification of a delay, and we should report to the Vista Lounge immediately. So much for a big breakfast. We raced to the Lido Restaurant to grab croissants and milk which we scarfed down heading to the Vista Lounge. When we got to the Lounge, we waited for fifteen minutes before someone finally realized that instead of being in the Lounge where we could do nothing, we should be out enjoying the locks. They told us to stay in a public area so we would hear the call for our excursion. Why was that so hard? Why couldn't they have just told us the night before to be in a public area at a certain time to hear the announcements. Luckily, we were able to use the time to eat a decent breakfast, but I was very irritated to have missed some of the canal experience.
