A guided tour allows you into the loft at the level
of the mosaic for a closer view. The dome was remodeled
in the 16th Century and the mosaic in the apse suffered
some damage and the loss of details in the upper corners.

Christ is shown teaching his apostles, the two women in
the rear personify the Church of the Circumcision and the
Church of the Gentiles. In the sky above the City of
Jerusalem are the symbols of the four evangelists.
