Summer Adventures

Now I am just thinking about them.
I love that time of year most of all.
Where you can just hop in the truck and go.
Sometimes there is a destination.
Other times you just start driving.
Not even knowing where you are going.
You always know when you get there though.
And when you do, interesting things await.
It may be walking along a cliff.
It could be interesting architecture.
It may be a market or a concert outside.
You just never know where you will land.
This is actually how I spent last summer.
Just seeing things and having fun doing it.
The prospect of sharing that makes me giddy.
I won't need to fret about wanting to go to Starbucks.
Even if it is 10 miles out of the way.
That's just how adventures should roll.
If something along the way is interesting, plans change.
As I am about to pull on boots and shovel the snow,
my heart is pulled towards Summer Adventures.

PS: It was taken last June in Newport.
I had a great cheeseburger on the way home.
It was a REALLY nice day.
