Engine Oil Coolers

Each of the 9-Cylinder 1820 ci Pratt & Whitney engines have an oil cooler for cooling the engine oil. The two rectangular openings in the leading edge of the starboard wing are air ducts for the right-side engines' oil coolers. If you look closely, the honeycomb oil cooler fins can be seen in one of the ducts.
