This is a two ton statue of Atlas by Lee Lawrie and Rene Chambellan at Rockefeller Center. Atlas carries the heavens upon his shoulders as punishment for defying Zeus. It was cast in 1936 and is located on Fifth Ave. directly across the street from the main entrance to St. Patrick's Cathedral.
