After the Jacaranda trees have finished flowering, it is time for
the red flowers of the Poinciana trees. The tree is not native but they are
very common, probably because they offer lots of shade and seem to be able
to grow well under our fairly dry conditions.
In this image, a close-up of one branch is visible, with part of one or our
older colonial houses in the background.
