One of the important lessons that I learned from the Patterson-Gallant workshop is seeing. What I saw when I first looked at the subject was three colors, and I wanted these colors to show movement. So, shaking the camera just a bit gave me the movement that I had pre-visualized and turned the subject into something that was abstract.
You wouldn't suspect that it was three canoes.
