This is a very artistic-looking photo. The bird is sharp and fills the frame nicely. But what makes him stand out are the background (as Ed pointed out) and those lovely thufts of mini-branches making a bower for the fluffy snow beside and below her (I think it's a female Junco). Wonderful capture.
