This is a unique exposed root shot of a fallen tree near my house. What makes it special to me is that the clay soil from the root ball has eroded and fell off just about all of the roots. We must have thousands of fallen trees in our county forests from past hurricanes and ice storms and this is the only one I have seen that has this full erosion. I shot this at night with a single burst of handheld flash from each side for the night shift gallery.
