The Canon 30D was my first DSLR -- I picked it up in late 2006 after a lot of practice and study with advanced compact digital cameras. Here is an early shot, a "candid" shot of my daughter taken with the "old" EF 28-135 IS lens, the on-board flash, and in jpeg -- all of which are for me things left in the dust!

But, this shot does show what good cameras are capable of -- I include a 100% crop to show that the "old" gear could capture great detail!
