Most Buddhist schools of thought acknowledge several Hells, which are places of great suffering for those who commit evil actions. Those with sufficiently negative karma are reborn there, where they stay until their negative karma has been used up. Then they are reborn in another realm – human, hungry ghost, animal, and so forth, to begin the karmic cycle of rebirth all over again. One of the temple's buildings has depictions of one level of Buddhist Hell.
