Metolius River
Born from large springs emerging from the North base of Black Butte , the Metolius River flows north and eastward to Lake Billy Chinook which then joins up with the Deschutes River In 1988, the river was designated a national Wild and Scenic River. Fed by numerous springs, and creeks, the river maintains a very nearly even flow throughout the year. The Metolius’ clear cold water is home to rainbow trout, Bull trout, white fish, brown trout and Kokanee salmon. I'd like to spend more time here to photograph this, in my opinion, most beautiful of all Oregon rivers, The Metolius deserves it's own gallery.
