We were playing with Eli a little bit before bedtime. Ok, he was toying with us is more like it. We were tired, he was not. So Margaret had him down on the bed in our very dimly lit bedroom. The only light was a small 40w lamp behind camera position and to the right a tad. He just looked so cute laying there that I thought I should grab the camera and get some shots. Crap. Canon is downstairs waiting to have the sensor cleaned and the batteries are charging for two portrait sessions this weekend. Oooookay.
So I remember that the Sony is fully charged and sitting on the bookcase just outside the room. So I snag it and boost the iso to 400 and leave the lens wide open at f/2. Crud...still not fast enough. Eli wiggles and he's a blur. I pop up the onboard flash and grab a large white envelope and wedge it between the flash and the lens, bouncing the light to the ceiling. It was still slightly underexposed, but I fixed that in photoshop.
It's not my primary camera anymore, but it can still manage a clutch pinch hit when you need it to.
