Historic Sukhothai: It's All A Matter Of Perspective

Phra Achana is the name of this Buddha, which is in the Subduing Mara posture. The statue originally sat in the open air, with its mondop constructed later. The Buddha’s lap measures 11.3 meters wide. Phra Achana translates as "one who is not frightened".
