Mamiya ZE-2 Quartz

This top quality Mamiya SLR was donated to my 'cause' by my
brother, Peter, and his wife, Ruth, as they recognised my
'addiction' and knew that it needed an extra jolt.

This camera has a great f1.4/50 prime lens, and is compact and
classy. I'm delighted my brother decided to go 'digital'. :-) Introduced
in late 1980, this camera has a quartz-timed metal focal plane
shutter. Although the ZE was automatic, the ZE-2 allows
for a manual override, hence batteries are not the 'lifeblood'.

05APR2010: I just bought one last Saturday from a local thrift store. The guy wanted CAN$25.00 but I was able to bring it down to CAN$10.00 because I told him it might not
be working. Took it home, did a little bit of cleaning externally and then replaced four batteries. Set it to Auto and the apperture and press shutter half way and watched the LED indicate the appropriate speed. It works! It came with a f2/50mm MamiyaSekor E lens. I loaded it with a Kodak film and will shoot away. I have an NC1000s which I bought last summer and was very surprised with the result in terms of sharpness even though the film I used was way pass expiry date. Sorry I don't have an eMail address, I was surf-
ing looking for info about my "new" ZE 2 when I came across you site. Hope you'll accept my humble message..

Wow I never even knew Mamiya had made a 35mm SLR. My 1st MFormat camera was a Mamiya 645.
