The hips of the rugosa are almost the size of a salad tomato
This rose was grown from seed by my non-gardener cousin, and I
planted one of her seedlings in my rose garden. It is the only
one which survived, all of hers that she planted out into her
garden died. Mine has grown to an average height of a H.T.
mainly because I prune it very hard each year.
My title refers to a visiting Italian lady who asked me why I had a tomato
growing in amongst my roses!!
