Thanks CJ, I have had this camera for a couple of years and really like it. I think this shot rather subtly shows the advantage of a sensor with large photosites compared to others with more megapixels but smaller physical size sensor.

In this shot it has captured detail from the shadows as well as highlights without any sign of luninance saturation. (blown highlights )

The other nice thing about this camera is its AF accuracy even in low light. It is a very expensive camera though and one could buy three 50Ds for the original price of this one.

You have the most beautiful birds in Australia Bob! And I'm impressed with the results from your camera and lens without PP. Is this a new camera - and what settings do you use? CJ

Thanks Penny and Monique, the bird is a Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans). They are beautifully coloured and quite common in our district.
