My Four Years On PBase

First I want to thank fellow PBaser Scott Schexnaydre for putting this montage together of the pictures I chose to depict my four years on PBase. I joined on November 14, 2004 and so much happened during the past four years.
I swamped you, truly, with photos of swans, sunsets, egrets and the River.
I overwhelmed you with photos of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
It has been such a wonderful four years with all of you on PBase. Though I have not met most of you whose photos I admire everyday, I feel as though I know you. You have all been an inspiration to me and I thank you for the good times.

The time has passed so quickly.
I joined PBase in 2002, but did not start with a PaD until 2005. It was then that I discovered your wonderful galleries; and have considered you a good friend ever since.

Coleen, thanks for taking the time to go shooting with me in the last couple of months, every trip is a history lesson. Your knowledge of this area is impressive, as is your skill with BOTH cameras.

Each one of these brings back a special memory, Coleen. I can remember when you commented on my photos even before you joined Pbase. My most poignant memory is the image you used to tell our fellow Pbasers about John's death. It meant so much to me. You have been a bright light in my life and in the lives of so many on Pbase. Congratulations......you are a blessing. And those legs are amazing!!!!!!!!!! God bless you, always.

Well, Coleen, you've been in my Favorites for as long as I can remember. You post great shots, you're an invaluable "historian" to sweeping events in your area, and you get better and better at fantastic bird shots. I love your work, and I appreciate your comments on my humble collection as well. Here's to four more!

Dear Colleen; four years goes by very quickly, what soul does all time. You have take in very many beautiful photographs, which I admire very much. I hope you have many more years of beautiful work ahead of you. I haven't touched my camera in months. Due to taking care of my wife. It was just a year ago she had her stroke, and that ground everything to a halt. She's doing quite well, but I do not know if she'll ever get back to normal. I have wonderful neighbors who come in and help quite a bit, it's like having angels living near us. I hope that someday I can start taking photography again, but I'm not sure. I'm just getting over a very severe case of the flu, which was so bad that I couldn't even stand up. I had no balance. God bless you my dear friend, and not check your pictures daily. By the way, my favorite photograph that you've ever taken was the two snowy egrets building a nest against the cypress tree. Your friend, Al Lee.

Coleen, a really nice collection of photos. I enjoy looking at your photos each day and of the stories that go with them. You have such a vast knowledge of the history of Louisiana, I can't wait each day to see the photo and read the story behind them. Thanks! (and good job Scott)

It's been a great 4 years in your company, Coleen...if I'm not mistaken that one on the right top...the stairs & decorations was 1, if not the first image you posted...correct ???

You, your words, your commitment and passion are such a huge strand of the fabric that is this Pbase community. I too feel as if I know you. My mother was just commenting to me yesterday as she browsed through Pbase looking at old images if I had ever met you. She was truly moved (as she had been in the past) by your encouragement, support, prayers and kindness throughout my 4 plus years here.

Congrats on four years. I hope the future brings a little less heartache and trial. We will take what we are given and hopefully be inspired to share it creatively and compassionately. Thank you Coleen!

Thank you for all of your photos and commentary . It has make me fall in love with NOLA. I hope some day soon my wife and I can speed a week or so there. Not for the tourist areas but the areas you photographed. Meet the people, eat the good food in the little places, and listen to the music, and may be even dance a little. Thank you for your four years.
