My Four Brothers in 1945

Montz, Louisiana

Today I honor my brothers, all Veterans who served their country.
On left, peeking from the trees, is Sheldon who was too young for World War II but enlisted shortly after high school and retired from the Navy as a Chief. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Second from left is Reed who fought in some of the most bitter battles in the Pacific. He served as a Pharmacist's Mate with the 1st Marine Division on Pelilu, Okinawa and all the other horrors with the 1st Marine Division. He was wounded twice and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
Emmett, third from left, was serving with the U. S. Maritime Service when this photo was taken. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the Army and served in Occupied Japan.
On the far right is Charles, a Chief in the Navy. After his enlisted time was up he served in the Naval Reserves for 25 years.
The brothers in uniform served under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and President Harry S. Truman.
I took this photo with a box Brownie camera on Christmas, 1945.

Proves that technology doesn't make the shot, the artist's eye sees the shot. What a shot.
