Given my current visual impairment, I didn't even notice the graininess!

But this is one place I'm longing to visit. Egyptian history fascinates me - cultural, spiritual, social, political and geological. These pyramids symbolize the mystique and speak of a time so incredibly ancient, one can only make a vague guess as to how it must have felt to stand at this very spot, three millennia ago.

Lovely sky and interesting perspective. The inclusion of the visitors adds an appealing human element.

Thank you all for your comments, particularly regarding the ISO issue. I totally missed that, and I was wondering where the grainy texture came from!! It must be the initial amazement of seeing these huge structures up close that made me forget to check the settings. Oh well!!!!

I also like the way the image is tilted.

Leaving aside the ISO (I have done that sort of thing often enough myself!) I like the way the image is tilted, I think it works well here and gives a curious (odd?) sense of motion.
The dark orange sand in the foreground looks level, the two figures as if they are on a beach and the pyramids look like they are floating on a large wave sweeping into the shore.

I agree with Don but, perhaps you just did a shot in a dark place and forgot to change the settings before snapping this shot? I've done that all to often, then I am glad it came out at all! The slope I can live with. That seems to be a style that a lot of photographers like. The pyramids are amazing to see. I've only seen them through photographs or television. I can't imagine how large they are in person. Thanks for entering!

Omar, this image has great potential but there are a couple of issues though. The first thing is the ISO. I would have shot this at ISO 100 with shutter speed 1/250th at f8 (if my conversion is right). Secondly I would straighten the horizon.
