I was actually shooting the three ship formation to my right when I heard (sensed?) the crowd gasp. The lead solo had come in low and extremely fast - 400/500 knots - from the left, seemingly just a few hundred feet above the crowd (gotta love an airshow on a military installation - no rules!) I managed to swivel my lens and focus just enough to catch three quick shots as it exited to the right, followed by the roar of its engines. Few things get your heart racing like that!
