30 Oct... TITC: "Books"

This is a very precious book.
It is a French bible, published in Paris in 1912 and given to my grandmother when she was at a Finishing School for Young Ladies in Switzerland.
The illustrated card is dated 23 December 1917. Also with it is a letter to me from my grandmother dated April 1st 1975 and it reads:

Dear Rosemary
As you have now passed your 'O' level in French I would like you to have my French Bible which was given to me on my Confirmation Day in the English Church in (?) Switzerland by the owner of a Finishing School for Young Girls. The card was also drawn by her. I hope you will take care of them.
Wishing you a very happy birthday,
Love from Granny

My grandmother died in 2006, aged 104.

How lovely! I have my mother's confirmation bible, but it is not as well kept as this. And substitute Bethnal Green for a Swiss Finishing School ;)
