changing landscape - charlie

A section of land in downtown Chicago. This parcel has become a thorny political issue. It was to have been a park honoring Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable. The first non native settler in Chicago. It is held up and fought over due to the construction of the Fordham Spire, a spectacular Santiago Calatrava designed structure. Environmental concerns are also an issue at hand. Many would say that money and politics are the only issue and that the park proponents are the only ones loosing out. In Chicago some things NEVER change.

Aww yes, the famous Chicago politics! There are some beautiful parks along the shore of Lake Michigan. If this werean affluent part of town, I wouldn't think it would be left in this state for any amount of time. Ya know what I mean?

This could be a beautiful project! But so often, progress is halted because of concerns that have nothing to do with aesthetics or ethics. I hope this will all be resolved soon.

Meanwhile, the perspective is effective and the water looks barely contained behind that wall.

Good story Charlie, it looks a great location if it ever gets finished,
