Change for the better? -ArtP
by ArtP

Soon the Poison Ivy leaves will be gone, leaving only the less visable stems hanging into the path.

One could almost forgive PI if it was this prety year round... at least it would be easier to spot! But it is native, and an important food source for birds... If it wasn't toxic, it would probably be widely cultivated :)

Actually, the worst case of poison ivy I ever got was in the winter, while clearing a path area in a park. There were no leaves for warning, but the resin on the stems was just as potent as ever. The leaves here look almost like they've been shed from the innocent dogwood. Context is everything. Nice pic, Art.

For such an obnoxious plant, it's really rather attractive. It contrasts nicely with the deep green of the bay leaves. Very nice shot even if it IS poison ivy!
