Hikers on the 1-1/2 mile trail between Ecola Point and Indian Beach in Ecola State Park on the northern coast of Oregon enjoy cliffside views of Tillamook Head Lighthouse which was built with enormous difficulty on a waveswept basalt monolith in 1880 and is no longer in service.
