Here's another idea Lisa.
Darken your image either with pulling down with curves or minus a couple of stops in RAW.
Erase your sky and then on a lower "new" layer do a gradient in two colours that you like which will represent the sky.
Add a moon and a few white blobs for stars.
Maybe even desaturate the colours a little.
