I was talking to Herb Smith, who built the Appledores and Eastwind and he was telling me about the little skiff he built called "KIS" which stood for "Keep It Simple". I love this boat and had photographed it a couple months back, AND had just photographed it minutes before he told me it was his and that he had built it! He said he built it by "eye" ("yeah, that looks about right") and that Wooden Boat Magazine had just photographed it for publication!
