I should have been more clear on the circumstances of this shot. It was taken at a reception in a room full of hundreds of people with available light. I had about 1 second to get the shot with a clear background. I had no control over the lighting or anything else, for that matter. Just when I chose to snap the shutter.

I have to agree with Bruce here, too much light on top.
Also I'm not keen on a full side pose like this, should be around 45degrees.
Also there is no catch light - front light.

You probably explained this shot on this list, but I don't get those messages, so am somewhat in the dark. It's a little top heavy on the lighting, it's a lot like too much hair light in the studio. With a blond, and what a blond this cutie is, you can easily burn out the hair with too much light on top. A little fill light (flash or reflector) would have done wonders here. You could have lowered the ISO and maybe eliminated a little noise I see, and filled in some shadow on the face, and of course, put a twinkle in those lovely eyes, to go along with the wonderful smile.
