A Huichol yarn painting. This one took over twenty days complete. Yarn paintings are closely associated with the shamanistic beliefs of the Huichol.
The painting has an important religious significance and each part of the iconography has a specific meaning. In this case it is an offering to the gods. The Huichol people refer to themselves as Wixáritari ("the people")
