It had been raining all day in Yorkshire, but as I crossed into Cumbria on my way to the lake district for 5 days of photography, the clouds started breaking up to reveal amazing low yellow sunlight. I avoided temptation to settle for nearer Windemere and drove full speed for Conniston. Wellington boots on, I waded about the shore and set up for this wide angle view to capture the drama of the wind-driven waves.
A 2 stop GND filter was used to hold the sky, and a 2 stop ND filter was used to allow a 1/10s shutterspeed to blur the movement of the fore-wave.
