One of the nice perks that we have at work is that my boss gets a package of season tickets every year to the Milwaukee Brewers. We pick out of a hat to see who goes to the next game, and I got the Cubs/Brewers seats for Friday night. Man, was it packed. 44,000+, and a LOT of them were Cubs fans too. Cub fans call the stadium, Wrigley Field North, and for good reason. It pisses the Brewer fans off though. They wear t-shirts that say, "Take back Miller Park!"
The seats are in a pretty sweet spot too. About 50-60ft past 3rd base and 12 rows up. I've taken shots from there before. But with only a 70-200 f/4 at my disposal, the shots are just so-so. http://www.pbase.com/frsty50/brewers_vs_reds . So I didn't bring my camera tonight. I know, I know...always have a camera...
We took Ian to his first ballgame when he was probably about 6 weeks old, so it was just fate that we would get picked for these seats, with just two sets of tickets left for this season. So, being that I didn't bring a REAL camera, I made do with the Rumor. It still should make a decent 4x6 or wallet size print. All I did was tweak the white balance a little bit and adjust the contrast.
The hat that Eli is wearing is actually a bowl that they serve waffle fries and cheese in. We just cleaned it out real good and slapped it on him. Now both of my boys are a little confused as to who to root for. Both Eli and Ian have Cubs shirts on and Brewers hats. It's the only way we could keep the locals from pelting us with peanuts.
And in true Buffin fashion, my one boy is sound asleep among 44,000 screaming fans, and the other one isn't looking at the camera...sounds about right.
