Today we did Disneyland in Hong Kong. I was fascinated with the dedicated subway train for the resort -- Mickey Mouse windows and hand-holds, plus carved figurines of all the characters in glass cases throughout the cars. I also enjoyed my Mickey Mouse waffle for breakfast.
Otherwise it was a typical Disneyland with three exceptions: fairly small, hot as hell, and no lines at all. Benjie walked right into "Space Mountain". How often does that happen in the States?
As far as adventurous eating, no way, Jose! My most exotic eating experience was French bread at a bakery for lunch.
The heat wore us out. We went to bed at 6 p.m. and got up at 3 a.m. this morning. We like early mornings because it is cooler.
Today I think we'll see a fishing village and a Buddhist monastery. Tomorrow afternoon we board the train to Beijing, a 24-hour ride through the heart of China.
