Hurricane

WOW! What a magnificant shot. It is from the space station.
ping http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/hurricanes_as_seen_from_orbit.html
no I didn't take it. 8*)
It is an old hurricane(2005 I believe)
There is not much of anything on tv except hurricane news.
The media is in overkill mode again.
"certain death if you don't get out of Galveston!!"
Heck they are predicting 70 m.p.h. winds and 8-15" of rain tomorrow.
Last hurricane that came thru yielded 1inch and 20 m.p.h. winds after the same warning!
I guess better safe than sorry, but I heard more people got killed in traffic accidents evacuating Rita
than were killed directly by the weather.
...
.
Anyway, looking for hurricane pics I came across this on the space shuttle photography site.

My brother got a warning email about his house in Irving Texas from
the local association. It suggested things to do to get ready.
Too bad he's working in Seattle.
There goes the patio set!

I know....we are wondering about that too. Saying our's will get anywhere from 40-50 mph while you guys out east will get worse. I'm still saying prayers for you and my sister that live out that direction! Stay safe!
