One of the best things I've EVER seen on the internet. Thank you for sharing. There's a special place in heaven for all of you who took such good care of Zoey in her time of need. She's a beautiful kitty.

I am a veterinarian student in St. Pete, Fl. You are a special person. Zoey knew this when she was in the middle of the road. Everything is for a reason. She has life because of you. She is a beautiful cat and I hope that she and your other animals have long healthy lives. Best regards to you and your family.

Your "tail" has now reached New Zealand. It's lovely to see another Feline Guardian Angel working out there :) Zoey is a credit to you.

i came across this page after looking up what may be wrong with a little kitty that wandered onto my porch recently with a horribly messed up eye. Zoey's story touched my heart and has me in tears because i wish i could do with this little guy what you have been able to do with her. i am not in the position at this time where i have the extra to spend take him to the vet, all i can do is try my best to doctor him with what i have available, provide him fresh food and water, outside shelter in this extreme heat and to make sure he knows that someone loves him even in the state that he's in. if i could, i would do the same or him as you have done for Zoey. many blessings upon you for your beautiful heart and the second chance you gave her!

I agree! Two of my cats came as strays that I found, two from an animal shelter, and previous cats were strays or from a shelter. I wish there were more people like you in this world! Thank you for this wonderful gallery and your wise words. VVV

Your tale of Zoey was so inspiring! I'm so happy that you are keeping everyone updated on Zoey's story. She was very lucky to have found you! I just wanted to let you know that our Elvis Club, Elvis International, donated over $2,000 to the Memphis Humane Society this past January. It's a cause that was very near and dear to our hearts because everyone in our club, besides loving Elvis, is an animal lover. Thank you for sharing your story! Liana

Just like Eva I was looking at ear mites for my mothers cat and came across Zoey's story. I have never posted a comment on the net until I saw this. I also have rescued Creamora, a male and Rascal, also male whom I have been a responsible pet owner and had them neutered. They both have stories of their own and I keep them in my store of sporting goods and antiques. They love the customers and most of the customers love them. I loved reading your story and all the great pictures. Have you read the book ''DEWEY''? It is a wonderful story.

I was looking for a picture of ear mites (since i think one of my cats has em) and I stumbled upon your site. And clicked aaaall the way through to the end. Even though I was pulling an all nighter to finish my thesis. (which reminds me to continue my search for ear mite pictures after this ;-)
What does this all mean? LOVELY stuff Tammy! Was a nice break from writing and I hope your family and kitties are all well.

Hugs from a cat breeder in Belgium!

OMG..I love this story, i myself am a cat rescuer..i have a FEW...i actually was doing my hours to get into vet tech school at a local animal hospital...they were showing me around the first day, i went upstairs to where they kept the kitties that were dropped off by people, police, etc...i walked up to this cage where a HUGE cat was sitting and i noticed that he had a bad eye, i open the caged and he crawled right up onto my shoulder...i later asked about the cat to one of the doctors and said that that county police had bought him in, was covered in dirt, but his eye was bad and they didn't think anyone would adopt him, so they were going to put him to sleep...i was shocked, here this beautiful big boy was going to be killed just because they thought someone wouldn't want him...so of course i took him with the hope that i would be able to find a home for him...i named him "Wink", he is doing extremelly well and actually still lives with me and my cats...i am talking to the doctors about what to do with his eye...he can see out of it, but the lid grew wrong so they are thinking surgery for the eyelid to help him see out of it better...i don't know how i came to this site, but i am glad to hear that there are people out there who are willing to help these animals because if we don't nobody else will. I hope Zoey and her fellow kittie friends are doing well as well as all the other little "non-perfect" kitties too...

Beautiful story -- beautiful person -- beautiful kitty. I have a siilar one to share but no time to do so now -- so for this moment I will just say may He who heeds the fall of a sparrow and who placed Zoey in your path and you just there just then to rescue her, bless you and her and all of yours each day and always ... "Zoe" in Greek means Life, and perhaps there is the message for all of us. Kindest regards from Kathleen and our 8 cats and their guardian chocolate Lab!

I two have a 6 month old kitten who just had her eye removed 3 days ago. I was searching on the web for photos of what she would look like after the surgery and came accross this amazing story. I am so impressed that you documented the whole story from the day you found her. Our kitten was also rescued from the street with a bad eye and now that it is finally out I hope she will recover as well as Zoey did. I feel a sort of connection with Zoey because our cat went through exactly the same ordeal. Good luck to Zoey and thank you for these photos which just show that our cat (her name is Bayouma by the way) is not alone!

Such a touching story. Thanks for taking the time to bring such an inspiring story to the world. Hugs and scratches behind the ear to Zoey!

On leaving work from the airport I spotted a small round ball of fur in the road. Upon stopping it turned out to be a kitten, a large open cut (possibly from a vehicle fan blade)along his stomach and what appeared to be both legs broken. I took it to our vet with the thought that due to the serious injuries they would put the kitten to sleep. Well, the Dr. said she could save the kittten and his legs were not broken. I named him Bennie (as you said,"it just seemed right")and after a long recovery time, he has become our 3rd cat. He gets along well with the other two (who by the way had similar stories of their own) and has become my wife's pillow each night. Such a loving little man for all the pain he has gone through. I need not go on as you understand our feelings of love for these animals and how much we learn from them. As so many have said, God Bless you and your family, especailly the little ones.

You are too much! Tail of a Happy Ending! It's been the story of Zoey that brought me to your site in the first place, we've had so much enjoyment in your galleries and your comments. Thanks Zoey and thanks Tammie!
