In the Latin Quarter visitors rest near ancient animal cages at the Arenes de Lutece, a Roman
coliseum dating from the first century. The coliseum may be accessed through the Square Capitan off
the Rue des Arenes, the gate entrance at Rue de Navarre, or through a not-so-obvious passageway
through the buildings at Rue Monge.
