I am 64 years old and retired from Compaq Computer and Hewlett Packard. When I was young, my father was an avid amateur photographer and I'm sure that's where I got the "bug", although I didn't really pick up the hobby myself until I was an adult. I believe it was when I was given a digital camera at work. We kept them around for customer give aways, but because advancing technology had made them out-dated, and also because we had quite a few of them, several of us at work were each given one of the cameras. They had less than 1 megapizel, but the fact that they were digital, that I'd never have to buy film again, and that I could immediately see whether or not I'd taken a good picture meant that I was hooked. I also know that if my father was still alive he would absolutely LOVE digital cameras and digital photography. And manipulation of those digital photographs is just a natural progression of the digital revolution.
