“Hello, Auntie Violet, it’s me, Frimpong!
I’m in Ireland and I have found documents here, with the great help of my hostess and dear friend Máire, which confirm what you had discovered in that ancient book you had found in a trunk in your attic”
“Oh, Frimpong, dear, what great news!
So you have found the traces of our Gaelic and Irish ancestors....”
“Yes, Aunt Violet, I have! I know by now that we come from distinguished Irish lineage.
My name in Irish would be Frimpong Mac Mathúna or Frimpong Ó Mathúna. Mathúna derives from the the old Irish word Mathghamhain which means Bear! A further coincidence is that Máire’s husband bears the surname Ó Mathúna so I was in fact coming back like many others of the Irish diaspora to the land of one of my forefathers.”
“I see, my dear nephew, so you are staying with distant cousins right now, since Máire’s husband is surely one of our relatives.
Behave properly, as it’s worthy of an Ó Mathúna!”
“Don’t worry, Auntie, I feel at home in Ireland.
I’ll soon send you all the photos of my new adventure, which you will post, please, in a photo-gallery to share with all our friends”
“Take care, Frimpong, and thank for calling, give my best regards to cousin Máire”
“Bye, Auntie”
