Brad Pitt's Legacy to New Orleans

Ninth Ward of New Orleans

Following Hurricane Katrina, actor Brad Pitt formed a foundation to help rebuild the Ninth Ward in New Orleans.
These are two houses being built by his foundation. The yellow one is a typical New Orleans Ninth Ward style home and the other two are supposedly environment friendly and hurricane proof. August 29 will mark the third anniversary since Katrina destroyed this neighborhood and swept away most of the houses in a tidal surge from the broken canal walls of the Industrial Canal.
Dozens of workers have swarmed in to get the houses completed for the Third Anniversary on August 29.
And, no, there are no architectural or building errors here. Each architect designed the house to be energy efficient and built to drain rainwater to be used in the gardens. We'll see how the people who receive them take care of them and appreciate the design.

Where can you go to see the floor plans of the houses. I really like some of them, but most photo's dont have floor plans.

Hopefully they're not to be tested by Gustav !!

Did you screw up the picture, or did the architect screw up the design???
Just kidding. Gawd, what an ugly, unnatural looking structure.

They look like they will be grand homes when finished. And hurricane proof is good. Great idea to photograph them with the omninous sky. Well done.

I fear they failed to heed the old rule about measuring twice and cutting once.

Good intent but it does seem a bit out of place.

Brad should run for mayor. You are fast with the processing!

that was nice of BP. Hurricane proof sounds good.
