From Granny Burrell Falls I got on the main trail through Panthertown and headed back towards the vehicle with a planned stop at Schoolhouse Falls. I just happened to look down at the right time and spotted one lonely Yellow Fringed Orchid. It was a rather homely looking specimen, but since the ones along Cold Mountain Road are gone, I was quite pleased to see it.
