F-86F Sabre

Built by North American Aviation.
Famous for the action it saw during the Korean War against the MIG-15.
First flight: 1 October 1947.
Introduced: 1949 with the USAF.
Retired: 1994 (Bolivia).

The "F" model pictured here had uprated engines and larger "6-3" wings without leading
edge slats which improved high speed agility.
The F series had provisions for a new task during this time:
The nuclear tactical attack with one of the new small "nukes"
("second generation" nuclear ordnance).
