1 August is the Swiss National Day and they always celebrate with fireworks and bonfires.
The staff at Bienenberg decorated the centre with candlelit lamps and led us outside for food, drink and a firework display. We learned a Swiss yodelling song and joined in folk dances from several countries by firelight. Back at the centre we could see fireworks going off across the hillsides and the light of several large bonfires.
