Corn update

Ok, after the horrific event earlier, I figured we could use something a little more light hearted. It looks like Ian's corn is doing nicely eh?

Who knows if we'll see any corn on it or not.

Talked to the horticulturist--Rich, & found out that corn plants have both male (tassels) & female (undeveloped corn) parts. The pollen drops off the tassels onto the corn silk of an undeveloped cob of corn!! So as long as Ian's corn is developing corn cobs it should get corn!!

It looks nice & healthy. You can come over & collect some pollen from our plants. We have some Blue Hopi & Strawberry Popcorn that are starting to form tassles. Who knows what Ian's corn would look like!
Looks like the critters are staying away from it!

I might have some bad news bro. If I am not mistaken, you need both male and female plants together to get corn. Something about cross pollinating. I dunno, I could be wrong though we do have the "Corn Festival" here so I must know something. ;) Great looking plant though.

Good looking corn Ian. Looks like we have another gardener in the family. Grandma

Plant looks good Ian, I think you'll get an ear out of it. Keep up the good work.
