Norway

Miami, FL

NCL's Norway docked at Dodge Island, dwarfing Commodore's Caribe I.

NCL's ex-flagship began life as the liner France in 1962, and served for over forty years until being sold for scrap. For most of her career she was the longest liner ever built at 1,035 feet, surpassed by Cunard's Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

Caribbean cruising as we know it began (arguably) with NCL and the Norway in 1979. Home-ported in Miami for over 25 years, she was its most visible symbol and wildly popular. As questions about her viability arose due to her age in 2003, a fatal boiler explosion in Miami sealed her fate. She began to be dismantled recently in India.
