Hamsa

“It’s the hand of Fatima –the Arab boy said-
Fatima was the prophet’s daughter,
her hand is a protection, a lucky charm”.

“It’s the hand of Miriam,
Moses’ sister – explained the Jewish boy-
It’s a lucky charm, which protect from evil”.

Wherever it’s reproduced, the symbol, the small hand,
Has exactly the same shape.
Only one hand, with five fingers...
The five pillars of Islam, the five People of the Cloak, the five books of the Torah.
The little hand looks exactly the same, always the same.

This photo is part of a thematic gallery
about apparently insignificant details and their possible meanings.

And the hand also looks like a bell or a blue-bell. Yes indeed, true happiness is being aware of each moment and savouring as many of them as possible. V.

Its a pretty item, well worth keeping, but luck comes from ones own heart and mind and the charm should only help remind us of that.
