Bobcat

Tucson, AZ

This is a young male Bobcat (Lynx rufus) that was hunting in our yard. This shot was taken from our dining room, with the cat
about six feet away from the window. It was great to see him stalk prey (a rabbit) but he was unsuccessful. We think he will
be back because he scent-marked a nearby tree stump. He actually stayed around for about 15 minutes before wandering off.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
Hand held, taken through a double-pane window. full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

You must have a heck of a backyard! We're in the Sonora Desert, too (Phoenix). but we never see anything like this wandering around. Great capture.

Wow, way to go Sam. He does look a little thin to me but there are certainly lots of rabbits around. Very cool.
