OK this is the second Mojave Green we've had in the yard in a couple of days ! This was a frightening encounter! and I was still shaking while editing this . This is what happened ! I was out checking water ,and walked up and was filling my Buck Goat's water tub, when I heard a little buzz !OMG I dropped the water hose and jumped back that's when I saw him curled up next to the tub. He had been only inches from my ankle! After dispatching this snake and examining it! I noted it only had two small buttons (rattles) so...this was a very young snake ,and I've heard that young snakes have more potent venom
Both of the Mojave Greens were, young! and it could be that there's a nest somewhere close ! or the construction of the new house behind us disturbed them. or the recient rain got them moving All I know is that I'll be extreemly vigalint from now on.
